The Hurricane was a legendary New York City nightclub, bar, & restaurant that operated from 1940 to 1944. It was located at 49th Street & Broadway within the Brill Building (which still exists) and, once inside, clients were transported to a South Pacific getaway including palm tree decor, tropical flora and fauna and the grand Tahitian hut bar! The Hurricane was one of the first integrated nightclubs in NYC and was also renowned for its revolving dance stage and regular appearances by Duke Ellington and his Big Band.

Old School NYC

Native New Yorker, lover of all things NYC. Didn't know about this place but design is fantastic. Nothing like old school art. Wish this place was still around.
